Set a unit as furnished or unfurnished

You can record if a unit is currently furnished. When the calendar optimizer is active, it uses this to place guests in furnished units first, so guests are not allocated to units that are not ready.

Before you begin

  • The calendar optimizer must be active on your workspace for the furnished setting to affect allocation. If it is not active, the setting is informational only.

  • If you cannot find the setting, or it can not be changed, check you have the correct role with your workspace admin.

Roles: Admin, Account management, Housekeeping coordinator, Maintenance coordinator, Onboarding, and Host coordinator. Whether Guest Experience (GX) and Guest Experience Manager (GXM)

What you need to know

  1. Log in and select the required workspace

  2. Go to Inventory and select Units

  3. Go to the unit to update, then select edit.

Unit listing with the edit icon highlighted

  4. Go to the Configuration panel

  5. Toggle Furnished to mark the unit as furnished or unfurnished

Edit unti on the configuration screen with the Furnished toggle active.

  6. A confirmation message appears: Furnishing status updated

The change saved and applied immediately

When a unit is marked as unfurnished and the calendar optimizer is active, the calendar optimizer avoids allocating guests to it while furnished units are available. It places a guest there only when necessary, for example when no suitable furnished unit is free.

When would you use it

  • You list around 30 units but keep only five to 10 furnished at any time, furnishing the rest as occupancy rises. You want the system to know which units are ready.

  • You want to retire the "Z-prefix" workaround. You no longer need to rename a unit to push it to the bottom of the list.

  • The calendar optimizer deprioritises unfurnished units for you.

  • You want an accurate picture of your inventory, marking units as furnished as you furnish them.

Things to note

  • If the calendar optimizer is not active on your workspace, the Furnished setting is informational only. It records the status but does not change allocation.

  • The calendar optimizer deprioritises unfurnished units for you.

  • The setting deprioritises an unfurnished unit. It does not block it. The calendar optimizer can still place a guest there when there is no better option.

  • Furnishing status currently lives on the unit's Configuration panel only. Displaying it on the multi-calendar and booking views is planned.

  • You are not yet alerted when a booking lands in an unfurnished unit. Notifications to help the site team prepare the unit are planned.
