How the Chainels resident portal works with Lavanda

What the Chainels resident portal does, what Lavanda does, and which information moves between them. Residents report issues and view invoices in Chainels, and Lavanda stays the system of record.

The Chainels resident portal is a resident app that can be connected to Lavanda. Residents use it to reach your team and to see information about their stay, while Lavanda holds the underlying records.

Chainels is a third-party application and every setup is configured separately, so what is available to your organisation may differ from what is described here. Confirm the detail with your Lavanda contact.

Before you begin

  • Your organisation has a Chainels subscription arranged through Lavanda.

  • Your buildings have been connected by Lavanda.

  • You have access to the areas of the Lavanda PMS the integration touches, such as Operations.

What you need to know

The integration can cover any of the following, depending on what has been set up for your organisation.

  • Residents. Bookings in Lavanda are used to give residents their place in Chainels.

  • Issues. An issue a resident reports in Chainels can create a ticket in Lavanda.

  • Ticket updates. Work your team does on the ticket can be shown back to the resident.

  • Invoices and payments. Invoices issued in Lavanda can be shown in Chainels, and residents can be given a way to pay.

In every case Lavanda holds the record and Chainels presents it to the resident. Your team works in Lavanda.

When would you use it

  • You want residents to report maintenance themselves rather than contacting the site team.

  • You want residents to see their stay and their account in one app.

  • You need resident requests recorded in the PMS so they can be reported on.

Things to note

  • Chainels is configured per customer, so another operator using both products may have a different set of features.

  • Chainels documentation is written for its own audience and uses its own terms. A Lavanda booking corresponds to a household, and a resident to a user in a community.

  • Lavanda also has its own Resident Portal, used by leads during the offer and application journey. It is a separate product from the Chainels resident portal.

  • Talk to Ava, the Lavanda AI Support Agent, from the chat in the PMS if you are unsure what your setup includes.
