Where the integration is set up to do so, invoices issued in Lavanda can be shown to residents in the Chainels resident portal, and residents can be given a way to pay them.
Chainels is a third-party application and every setup is configured separately, so what is available to your organisation may differ from what is described here. Confirm the detail with your Lavanda contact.
Before you begin
Invoicing is part of what your organisation has set up with Chainels.
Invoices are being issued in Lavanda in the normal way.
You have access to the finance areas of the Lavanda PMS.
What you need to know
An invoice issued in Lavanda can appear on the resident account in Chainels, with its amount, currency and due date.
What the resident sees reflects the Lavanda ledger. Lavanda remains the record of what is owed and what has been paid.
As an invoice is paid, part paid, credited or cancelled in Lavanda, the view in Chainels is updated to match.
Where paying from Chainels has been set up, the resident is given a payment link generated by Lavanda, and the payment is recorded against the invoice in Lavanda.
Raise and correct invoices in Lavanda as you normally would. There is nothing to maintain separately in Chainels.
When would you use it
A resident asks where to find what they owe.
A resident says an invoice in the app does not match what they have paid.
You are deciding whether to send a payment request by email or let a resident pay in the app.
Things to note
An update in Lavanda takes a short time to reach Chainels, so a very recent change may not be shown yet.
A payment taken outside the system, such as cash or a bank transfer, reaches Chainels only once it has been recorded against the invoice in Lavanda.
Individual receipts and allocations are not normally itemised in Chainels. The resident sees what is outstanding and what is paid.
Automated payment reminders are not part of the integration.
Chainels does not publish its own help content on invoices or payments, so questions about what a resident sees come to your team.
