Multi-factor authentication (MFA), also known as two-factor authentication or 2FA, is required for every user who signs in to the Lavanda PMS. This article covers enrolment using the Auth0 Guardian authenticator app.
Before you begin
Install the Auth0 Guardian app: Google Play or App Store.
Sign in to the app with the same email address you use to sign in to Lavanda. Enrolling under a different account is the most common cause of failure.
Have your phone with you. You are asked for a code every time you sign in.
What you need to know
Open the Auth0 Guardian app on your phone.
Sign in to the PMS. The enrolment page appears with a QR code.
In the app, select the + button.
Select Scan QR code and scan the code on the enrolment page.
The app creates an entry called lavanda: your email address and starts generating a 6 digit code that changes every 30 seconds.
Enter that code, sometimes called a one-time passcode or OTP, in the Enter your one-time code field and select Continue.
MFA is now active. You are asked for a code from the app each time you sign in.
If scanning does not work, select Trouble Scanning? to use a setup key instead. Enter Lavanda as the account name, enter the key shown on page, then select Add.
Things to note
Codes change every 30 seconds. If a code is about to change, wait for the next one.
Remove any older Lavanda entries from the app before enrolling again, to avoid confusion during setup.
