Multi-factor authentication (MFA), also known as two-factor authentication or 2FA, is required for every user who signs in to the Lavanda PMS. This article covers enrolment using the Salesforce Authenticator app, which uses a two-word phrase instead of a numeric one-time passcode.
Before you begin
Install the Salesforce Authenticator app: Google Play or App Store.
Have your phone with you. You are asked to approve each sign-in.
What you need to know
Open the Salesforce Authenticator app. Complete the tour, or go straight to adding an account.
Select Add an Account. The app generates a unique two-word phrase.
Sign in to the PMS.
Enter the two-word phrase in the Two-Word Phrase field and select Connect.
In the app, review the details and confirm the connection.
MFA is now active. You are asked to approve the sign-in in the app each time.
Things to note
Salesforce Authenticator uses a two-word phrase, not a 6 digit code. The other supported apps use a numeric one-time passcode, sometimes called an OTP.
Remove any older Lavanda connections from the app before enrolling again, to avoid confusion during setup.
