Multi-factor authentication (MFA), also known as two-factor authentication or 2FA, is required for every user who signs in to the Lavanda PMS. This article covers enrolment using the Microsoft Authenticator authenticator app.
Before you begin
Install the Microsoft Authenticator app: Google Play or App Store.
Sign in to the app with the same email address you use to sign in to Lavanda. Enrolling under a different account is the most common cause of failure.
Have your phone with you. You are asked for a code every time you sign in.
What you need to know
Open the Microsoft Authenticator app, select the plus icon, then select Add account.
Select Work or school account, then select Scan a QR code.
Sign in to the PMS. You are shown the enrolment page with a QR code.
Scan the QR code on the enrolment page.
Enter the code from the app, sometimes called a one-time passcode or OTP, in the Enter your one-time code field and select Continue.
MFA is now active. You are asked for a code from the app each time you sign in.
If scanning does not work, select Trouble Scanning? and follow the on-screen instructions.
Things to note
Codes change every 30 seconds. If a code is about to change, wait for the next one.
Remove any older Lavanda entries from the app before enrolling again, to avoid confusion during setup.
