A rate modifier that already exists can be edited, deactivated, reactivated, or deleted. All four actions start from the rule's own row on the Rate modifiers screen. Deactivating a rule keeps it for later use, and deleting a rule does not.
Before you begin
You need permission to manage rate modifiers for the building. Without it, Lavanda shows "You don't have permission to manage rate modifiers for this building".
The rate modifier already exists. To add one, read How to create a rate modifier.
You know which building carries the rule. Rate modifiers are stored per building, and the list shows one building at a time.
To change a delta, know the building's caps. A delta outside them is refused when the rule is saved.
What you need to know
Find the rate modifier
Go to Inventory and select Rate modifiers.
Select the building from the building picker. Lavanda then lists that building's rules only.
To narrow the list, select All, Enabled, or Disabled.
Find the rule by its Name. The list also gives its Attribute, Rule, Delta, and Status.
For a long list, select Prev or Next to move between pages.
Edit a rate modifier
Select the actions menu on the rule's row, then select Edit.
The Edit rate modifier panel opens, carrying the same sections as a new rule.
Under Details, change the Building or the Name.
Under Condition, change the Operator and the values the rule matches.
Under Adjustment, change the Adjustment type, then enter the new Delta (%) or Flat amount.
Under Availability, use Active during a specific date window to set or clear From and To.
Select Save. Lavanda confirms with "Rate modifier updated".
To leave the rule as it was, select Cancel.
Deactivate or reactivate a rate modifier
Select the actions menu on the rule's row.
Select Disable to stop the rule applying to pricing. Lavanda confirms with "Rate modifier disabled".
Check the rule's Status, which now reads Disabled.
Select Enable on a deactivated rule to apply it again. Lavanda confirms with "Rate modifier enabled".
The same setting is available inside the Edit rate modifier panel, as Enabled under Status.
Delete a rate modifier
Select the actions menu on the rule's row, then select Delete.
Lavanda asks "This rate modifier will be permanently removed. Continue?".
Confirm the deletion. Lavanda confirms with "Rate modifier deleted" and takes the rule out of the list.
To keep the rule but stop it applying, select Disable instead.
What each action does
Action | What it does |
Edit | Reopens the rule so its name, condition, adjustment, date window, and status can be changed. |
Disable | Keeps the rule but stops it applying to pricing. Its Status reads Disabled. |
Enable | Applies a deactivated rule again. Its Status reads Enabled. |
Delete | Removes the rule permanently. Lavanda gives no way to restore it. |
When would you use it
You need to change a delta after reviewing the rates it produced.
You need to pause a premium for a quiet letting period, then apply it again later.
You need to correct a rule's name so colleagues understand why the adjustment exists.
You need to extend or shorten the date window a seasonal adjustment applies to.
You need to remove a rule created in error before it affects any more pricing.
You need to check which rules are active on a building before a rate review.
Things to note
The actions menu on a rule's row is an icon with no text label. It carries Edit, Disable or Enable, and Delete.
Attribute can be selected in the Edit rate modifier panel, but a saved change of attribute is refused. Lavanda shows "Rate modifier type cannot be changed once created". Create a new rule instead.
Delete is permanent. Lavanda states that the rule will be permanently removed, so Disable is the safer choice for a rule that may be needed again.
A deactivated rule is kept but not applied to pricing, so its adjustment stops affecting the units it matched.
A delta outside the building's caps is refused on save. Lavanda shows "Delta exceeds the max per-rule cap for this building" or "Delta is below the min per-rule cap for this building".
Changing a building's caps can leave an existing delta impossible to re-save, so check the caps before editing a delta.
Every field in the Edit rate modifier panel is marked Optional, and a rule still needs at least one value for its attribute. Without one, Lavanda shows "Select at least one value for the chosen attribute".
Rate modifiers are stored per building, so a rule cannot be edited from another building's list.
Lavanda uses the words rate modifier for a second, unrelated setting. Rate modifier (optional) on a derived product group applies a percentage to a parent product's rate. It is not part of the Rate modifiers screen.
