You change the housekeeping status of a unit on the Room rack, either one unit at a time or for a selection of units in one action. A unit is either Clean or Dirty.
Before you begin
You need permission to update housekeeping status. Without it the status does not change, and the message You don't have permission to update housekeeping status is shown.
The unit must belong to a building that has units on the Room rack.
To find the units that need changing first, go to Where to find which units are clean or dirty.
What you need to know
Change one unit
Go to Operations, then select Room rack.
Select the building the unit is in.
Select the unit to show its details.
Select Mark clean or Mark dirty. The action offered is the one the unit is not currently set to.
Confirm the message Unit marked clean or Unit marked dirty is shown.
The unit details also offer Set OOO, which marks the unit out of order, plus Reassign, Edit booking and View booking where a booking applies.
Change several units at once
Select each unit you want to include, to build a selection.
Select Mark all clean or Mark all dirty.
Confirm each unit in the selection now shows the status you set.
A selection is capped: Bulk actions are limited to 25 units at a time. To cover more than 25 units, work through them in batches.
When would you use it
A housekeeper has finished a unit and it needs to show as clean before the next arrival.
A guest has checked out and the unit needs to show as dirty for the next housekeeping round.
A floor has been cleaned together and you want to update every unit on it in one action.
A unit was marked clean too early and needs putting back to dirty.
Things to note
Bulk actions are limited to 25 units at a time, so a large building needs several passes.
Marking a unit dirty does not create a cleaning task, and completing a cleaning task does not on its own mark the unit clean. The two records are separate.
Set OOO marks a unit out of order for maintenance, which is a different state from Dirty and is counted separately.
Lavanda PMS has no setting that changes the clean or dirty status on a schedule, so every change is made by a person on the Room rack.
If the status does not change, the message We couldn't mark the unit as clean or We couldn't mark the unit as dirty is shown. Try the action again, and talk to Ava if it continues.
The rack can also show Decaying and Unknown. Mark clean and Mark dirty do not set either of them.
