The Room rack shows the housekeeping status of every unit in one building on a single screen, so you can tell which rooms are clean and which are dirty. Ready-made quick views list the units that still need cleaning.
Before you begin
At least one building with units must exist. A building with no units shows the message No units in this building.
The Room rack reports the clean or dirty status. It does not create cleaning work: Automated cleaning and check-in tasks covers how the PMS generates cleaning tasks.
What you need to know
Go to Operations, then select Room rack.
Select the building you want from the building list.
Select the date you want in the date field. The Room rack shows the position for that day.
Find the unit you want and read its status. Cleanliness is one of four states: Clean, Dirty, Decaying or Unknown.
To list only the units that need cleaning, select the Housekeeping queue quick view.
To list only the units that are ready for a guest, select Ready and available.
What the summary counts mean
The counts across the top of the Room rack summarise the building for the selected date.
Count | What it covers |
Arrivals | Guests due to arrive, split into those already checked in and those still due. |
Departures | Guests due to leave, split into departures completed and departures running late. |
Occupied | The percentage of units with a guest in them, and the number of units behind it. |
Vacant clean | Units with no guest that are marked clean. |
Vacant dirty | Units with no guest that are marked dirty, so they need cleaning. |
Arrivals at risk | Units still marked dirty with a guest due the same day. |
Out of order | Units blocked for maintenance rather than dirty. |
What the quick views mean
Each quick view filters the rack to one working list, and shows how many units are in it.

Arrivals today | Units due an arrival, and units already checked in. |
Departures today | Departures done, running late, and in progress. |
Ready and available | Units that are vacant and clean. |
Housekeeping queue | Units that are dirty, departed or late. |
Out of order | Units blocked for maintenance. |
Under Priority, Arrival at risk, room still dirty narrows the rack to the units where a guest is due today and the unit is not yet clean.
Changing how much detail is shown
The Zoom control switches between Building, Floor, Zone and Unit, so you can move from a whole building down to one unit.
The building map lists each floor with its unit count, and selecting a floor focuses the rack on it.
The filter field searches by unit and by booking.
When would you use it
You need to know which rooms still need cleaning before a housekeeping shift starts.
You need to check that every guest arriving today has a clean unit waiting.
You want to find the units that are vacant, clean and available to sell.
You want to separate units that are dirty from units that are blocked for maintenance.
Things to note
The Room rack shows one building at a time. To review another building, change the building selection.
Lavanda PMS has no setting that changes the clean or dirty status on a schedule. The status is recorded against the unit and is changed on the Room rack.
Out of order is a separate state from Dirty. A unit blocked for maintenance is not counted as needing a clean.
Cleaning tasks and cleanliness status are separate records. Completing a cleaning task does not by itself change the unit to Clean.
The counts and quick views follow the date you select, so an unexpected zero is often the wrong date rather than missing data.
